The bluebonnets have arrived ...

... and all is right in the Tin Man's world.

If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers,
many of which are never even seen,
don't you think He'll attend to you, take pride in you, do His best for you?

I'm trying to streamline my shoot-edit-show-deliver process in order to survive senior season, and this simplified blog post was today's idea. Brilliant, eh? Besides, Trevon's portraits leave me a little too awestruck to do much more than lay out a few like treasured jewels.

Trevon has a quiet (well, up until now) desire to pursue modeling work. He thinks it would be a fun way to pay his way through college.

I definitely see some promise here.

Of course, after our grueling 18 million-frame shoot, Trevon did mention something about modeling possibly being harder work than he'd imagined.

I still say he's a natural.

If you want to get to know the brains within this beauty, look for Trevon's articles in The Facts. His writing skills are well worth the investment of a few tough hours in front of the camera. Anyone know of a great Houston agent?
I watch for Your ancient landmark words,
and know I'm on the right track.

There's just something about girlfriends that makes life more fun. Am I right, ladies?

Grace was the one who lined up this buddy session. I can't say for sure for sure for sure, but I'm pretty sure that Grace is the one who lines up most of the adventures in this friendship. I'm also pretty sure that Rachel is perfectly happy to go along with whatever fun things Grace plans.

So let's take a moment to get to know these girlfriends. Here's Grace:

Grace is the dancer and drill team officer who loves performing for stadiums filled with football fans.

She's hoping to blaze a new trail in the fashion industry and plans to make her way to New York as soon as possible.

And this is Rachel:

She's the prize-winning cowgirl who loves animals so much that she's already ruled out a career as a veterinarian because it hurts too much to have to put any down.

Rachel is headed to a small college in a small town and hopes to be a small town girl all of her life. She wants to find her place somewhere within the natural sciences.

Two different personalities. Two different dreams. Two friends who fill the gaps for one another.

Girlfriends!

This is My command:
Love one another the way I loved you.
This is the very best way to love.
Put your life on the line for your friends.

I LOVE Amanda's senior portraits! And, even better, she does too! At the risk of spoiling the surprise for her family and friends, I simply must share many of our favorites with you this very minute.

Can you tell that Amanda is a character? And can you also see how gorgeous she is?!

I loved visiting some of my tried and true locations because Amanda brought a whole new spirit to each one.

See what I mean? Oh my. My heart races!

This session was definitely a case of "good things come to those who wait" because we got rained out twice before God gave us an absolutely perfect day. Thanks for being ... well ... not patient exactly but persistent, Amanda! I do hope these photos help you see what the rest of us see when we look at you: a radiant, beloved daughter of the King.
Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear...
The King is enthralled by your beauty;
honor Him, for He is your Lord.
All glorious is the princess within...

Dance is who Jenna IS.

So of course her senior portraits needed to highlight that.

We wanted to show that even when she's wearing her Everyday Teenager Disguise, she's really still a dancer underneath.

I don't think anyone's ever been fooled by her disguise anyway. Jenna's natural grace can't help but give her away.

You are definitely your mama's daughter, Jenna, and in my experience that's a very good thing! May your life continue to be one long, exquisitely choreographed dance. ...six, seven, eight
David and all Israel worshiped exuberantly in song and dance,
with a marching band of all kinds of instruments.

AHS Show Choir members really outdid themselves with last week's dinner theatre performance. Titled The Wildcat Awards, the production featured great songs from hit movies along with a madcap storyline and this cast of real characters:

Here's a look at all of those characters in action:

Mr. Stewart did a terrific job of pulling the songs together, writing the script, and coaxing strong performances from each cast member.

And the dinner portion of the dinner theatre could not have happened without these dedicated Choir Moms.

BIAS ALERT: A large percentage of the audience thought this particular actress stole the show. Of course, most of us were either related to her or otherwise already in love with her.

Actress Granny Jane even flew in all the way from LA for the performance. Way to go, Mag!

If you simply must see all 114 shots in the production gallery, fix yourself a nice cup of tea, click HERE, go to CLIENT PROOFING, type in wildcatawards as your password, and prepare to relive the fun. Can't wait for your final show in a couple of months, gang!

Oh, let me sing to God all my life long,
sing hymns to my God as long as I live!

I could comment on lots of obvious things about Bobby.

Boyish good looks. Extraordinary height. Award-winning abilities in basketball and track and field.

Bright eyes and steady gaze.

Calm, pleasant demeanor.

But the two things I really want to talk about are what I appreciated most about him during our hour or so together.
First, Bobby is one of the most polite, cooperative, willingly obedient people I have ever met, and I know that his parents, coaches, teachers and friends have been blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of his life. This habit of respectfully yielding to others is a strength that will serve him well in all of his future relationships as well.
And second, Bobby has a great smile!

Thanks for rewarding me with that smile and letting me capture it for everyone who enjoys seeing it, Bobby. That's exactly why your mom reallllllly wanted us to create these portraits!

Submit to one another
out of reverence for Christ.

Just a quick post here to introduce you to up-and-coming cake artist Josh Taylor of Texas Cake Works. He's got big things in the works and needed some promotional photos, so we got together recently for a mini-session.

Creating amazing cakes is just the latest endeavor to be tackled by Josh. When I asked him how he got into this field, he laughed and said, "Ego! I saw someone else's cake and knew I could do better." And by all accounts, that's exactly what he's doing!

Give Josh a call the next time you need a truly special cake. Something tells me you'll have a lot of fun working together!
A twinkle in the eye means joy in the heart,
and good news makes you feel fit as a fiddle.

Amanda is a young woman of many talents.

She is an animal whisperer extraordinaire ...

... an expert at living life to the fullest ...

... a deep thinker ...

... an enthusiastic fan of nature ...

... a ninja, apparently ...

... a nimble big toy climber ...

... and a gifted dandelion blower.

And she's accomplished all of this in only her first 18 years. There's just no telling what she'll do next! How fun you are, Amanda. I'm so glad we got to play together for the afternoon!

It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.
Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up,
He had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living,
part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.
