I have evidently been living in a time warp because I could have sworn that I'd posted new photos only a few days ago. I guess it's true that time flies when you're having fun ... and frantically shooting, editing and designing senior photos and graduation announcements.

ANYWAY, I still have 12 seniors to introduce to you! So without further ado, here are Josh ...

... Samantha ...

... Evelyn ...

... and Lowrie.

As you can see, we made good use of the natural decorations God sprinkled around our area this spring. Choosing only three photos per senior was really tough because each one had a gallery filled with terrific shots. They couldn't help themselves, really -- they're all wonderfully made! Thanks for working so well with me, Josh, Samantha, Evelyn and Lowrie. Now get out there into your glorious future!

My counsel is this:
Live freely, animated and motivated by God's Spirit.

Since I've fallen so far behind in blogging, I'm going to try to play catch-up by introducing you to four seniors in one post. Actually, you met this first fellow a couple of months ago, but you might not recognize him in his beach gear. This is Reagan, master of many outdoorsman disguises:

The next afternoon I met Andrew for the first time, and we hit it off beautifully. By the way, Andrew is headed into the Marines right after graduation from Brazoswood. Between now and then he'll also be spending as much time in the great outdoors as possible.

And THEN I had the triple pleasure of hanging out with Megan, Melissa, and their mom-who-could-be-their-triplet Penny. What fun to work with two young ladies who are even more beautiful on the inside than the outside!

This is Megan, the ever so slightly older and bolder sister.

And this is Melissa, the quietly radiant slightly younger sister.

I have been richly blessed with seniors this year. Even though I've lumped you all together here, I am delighted by each of your one-of-a-kind personalities. You are wonderfully made down to the tiniest dot over your eyebrow (Megan), the number of freckles sprinkled across your nose (Andrew and Melissa), and your steadfast refusal to stick even a toe into the early spring Gulf of Mexico (Reagan). What an awesome job I have!

So, friends, take a firm stand, feet on the ground and head high.
Keep a tight grip on what you were taught.
May Jesus Himself and God our Father,
who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence,
put a fresh heart in you,
invigorate your work,
enliven your speech.

Nick has a classic vibe about him. I knew that before we met for our session, so I searched for a couple of locations that would really suit him. Look what we found!

Even though he says he doesn't know how to smile for the camera, Nick's photos prove otherwise.

He's even got a couple of different smiles. There's the "why yes, I did medal in powerlifting" smile ...

... the "watch this!" smile ...

... and the "senior year can't end quickly enough" smile.

Each one reflects a facet of wonderfully made Nick. Classic!

Investigate my life, O God,
find out everything about me;
cross-examine and test me,
get a clear picture of what I'm about.
See for Yourself whether I've done anything wrong --
then guide me on the road to eternal life.

Adam bravely kicked off his mini session with a high-flying take on a graduation gown shot. MUCH more fun than standing in front of a fake bookshelf holding a fake diploma, don't you think?

Then we prowled around the Brazoria County Master Gardeners property looking for other interesting textures and lighting.

Don't let Adam's serious look fool you.

He's really a pretty impish fellow with a great sense of humor to match. Given the family he's grown up in, he really didn't have any other choice.

Take your time figuring out where you're headed, Adam. I have every confidence that it's somewhere interesting and fun, with just the right mix of seriousness and impishness to suit you.

Stand your ground.
And don't hold back.
Throw yourself into the work of the Master,
confident that nothing you do for Him is a waste of time or effort.

Dillon and Monica are pretty fierce competitors in their respective athletic arenas.

Dillon is a wrestler and plays football. (Side note: I forgot to tell you, Dillon -- when Angleton played Brazoswood this past fall, I actually yelled "Yay Dillon!" when I heard your name called out over the loudspeaker. Angleton fans looked at me a bit strangely but decided I must be some crazy lady who didn't realize she was yelling for the wrong team.)

Dillon likes to have fun, although he prefers to keep his game face on.

Monica is a softball player. Wouldn't you just shake in your shoes if you were on the pitcher's mound and saw this face set like flint?

It's just a good thing Monica's opponents don't get the chance to see her lovely and wacky sides. They might not be quite so intimidated otherwise.

Come to think of it, it was best to wait and do these sessions AFTER Dillon and Monica wrapped up their high school sports careers. They were having too much fun to keep up their tough facades for long.

Winning athletes. Winning personalities. May you both keep striving for excellence while being great sports!
Hear the shouts, hear the triumph songs in the camp of the saved?
"The hand of God has turned the tide!
The hand of God is raised in victory!"

Since Jarrett is heading into the Air Force in just a few months, I thought it would be fun to do some shots with airplanes in the background. We headed out to the Brazoria County Airport to try our luck, and boy did we score! I have found people to be quite eager to help make senior portraits something special, and the airport director was no exception. When I told him that we were hoping to get close to a plane, he led us to this one tucked away in their hangar:

I had no idea that one of Howard Hughes' planes is being stored at our airport. Now Jarrett knows too!

We did finally have to tear ourselves away from our awesome find. Jarrett's face quickly relaxed from that giddy grin into its everyday cool expression.

Doesn't this just look like a face that will stay cool under pressure?

Jarrett, thanks for bravely standing nearby while I wheedled our way closer to an airplane. Only for you! I'll be praying for you as you head out into the wild blue yonder.
God Himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track
until things are all wrapped up by Jesus.
God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure,
shares with us the life of His Son and our Master Jesus.
He will never give up on you.
Never forget that.
